Haus Saron is located in the Ayrshire town of Largs, a popular seaside resort situated on the west coast of Scotland.

 

Within the town there many activities including two golf courses: Largs Golf Club, a private parkland club and Routenburn Golf Club, a public moorland/hill course with spectacular views of the Clyde.

 

There are three bowling greens in the town with Halkshill having indoor rinks.

 

Walking is a favourite past-time; one can either walk along the three-mile-long promenade or sample other hill and country walks.

 

There is a well equipped marina at the south end of the town. Diving and fishing  trips can be organised there. Other marinas are at Troon, Ardrossan and Inverkip.

 

Cumbrae Voyages provide fantastic marine wildlife adventures around the Cumbrae islands. On the island itself, Cumbrae Water Sports Centre provides training and certification in sailing and boarding.

 

Details of sailing on the Clyde and between the islands  of Arran, Bute and Cumbrae can be had from Caledonian Macbrayne. A special attraction is the Waverley, the world's last sea going padle steamer - not to be missed.

 

Various festivals take place throughout the year. Sample the Viking Festival in late August or the Country and Western Festival in Millport.

FURTHER AFIELD

Interesting days out can be had on the Island of Bute where you can visit Mount Stuart House. Going further afield you should definitely visit Loch Lomond.

 

GLASGOW

Pay a visit to the Burrell Collection or the Science Centre. Go shopping at the world-famous Princes Square in Buchanan Street, the St Enoch centre or the massive Braehead shopping centre on the west side of the city.

 

NEW LANARK

An interesting day out can be enjoyed at New Lanark.

 

EDINBURGH

Lots of attractions here. For the arts, try the Edinburgh Festival, the Tattoo, Fringe events or the Filmfest. There is a super range of museums and galleries, one of the finest being the Museum of Scotland. For visitors at new year, Edinburgh is the ultimate place to enjoy Hogmanay!

 

STIRLING

For anyone interested in the history of Scotland, a visit to the castle is a must.

 

FALKIRK

Don't miss the incredible feat of engineering that is the Falkirk Wheel.
